D-Mannose is a simple sugar molecule found naturally in fruits such as cranberries. The sugar can be used to help flush out the bacteria responsible for up to 90% of urinary tract infections.
Bacteria naturally exists in the digestive system, but if it enters the urinary tract, it can multiply and stick to the bladder wall, leading to urinary tract infection symptoms and discomfort. D-mannose can help by attracting bacteria and allowing it to be flushed out during urination. It acts as a prevention method when taken regularly or actively removes bacteria during an infection when taken at higher levels as a supplement.
